Show GAIN COMPUTER Teacher Irene Janes shows a new computer com-puter to pre-school students LiaMarie Watson, Jr. Schofield, Taylor Sanford, Cindy Lee Janes and Jill Fernelius. The school won the computer. The West Bountiful Preschool, Pre-school, under the direction of Irene Janes, is happy over the computer they recently won. ON AUG. 1, 1981, Mrs. Janes received paperwork for the school to join the Chidren's Choice Book Club. There was an offer to win a "Speak and Spell," if a school could get a minimal number of children to sign up for the club. Also if you were one of the first 150 teachers to obtain the book club application and have it sent in you could win a computer. compu-ter. Mrs. Janes, frankly, thought it was a come-on. She never believed that the company com-pany actually gave such expensive ex-pensive gifts away. Approximately three weeks later she received the "Speak and Spell" in the mail. This was valued at $75. Two days later Mrs. Janes received the computer, valued at $750. The club said Mrs. Janes was one of the 150 teachers in the nation na-tion to receive the computer. They also sent an early learning learn-ing module which is designed especially for pre-schoolers. The module teaches the alphabet, shapes, colors, and numbers. Children from three years of age will be trained to operate the computer. MRS. JANES was doubly surprised when she received the computer, because she has never won anything in her life. Mrs. Janes has 31 children enrolled (17 three year olds and 14 four year olds). She teaches six sessions per week. This is the fourth year for the school. |
