Show far W WX Halloween Fun The Woods Cross Elementary Elemen-tary PTA has set Friday, Oct. 30 as the date for the annual ' Halloween carnival. " " THE CARNIVAL was created cre-ated to encourage the area's children from being out on the streets late and provide a safer Halloween. The need became evident several years ago when some children found razor blades in apples. The event also helps raise funds for various PTA projects. pro-jects. Last year's earnings helped purchase a 'Big Roy' for the school. A LOT of preparations are being made so everyone can have a good time. There will be good food to eat; pizza, corn dogs, drinks and cotton candy . J ' There will be games. Also a cake and animal walk. Many cakes will be made by fifth and sixth graders and entered in a decorating contest. Prizes will be awarded in each grade. THERE WILL be a wet sponge toss, fortune teller, spook alley, dart throw, bumper bum-per car, I.D. jewelry, lollipop pumpkin plus, new this year, a balloon man making your favorite favo-rite balloon creatures. Prizes will be given at each game. Tickets for the games will be sold 5 for $1 with most games charging one ticket. PTA COMMISSIONERS in charge of the carnival are Shiela Staker and Jan Garff along with the help of Tana Baxter, food; Connie Feil, cake contest; Kathi Barlow, decorations plus many hours put in by teachers and parents. Shiela states this year's response re-sponse has been fantastic. PTA officers this year are Kathi Barlow, president; Judy Bird, president-elect; Diane Anderson, secretary; Carol Bangeter; treasurer; Dale Bar-nett, Bar-nett, principal; Cyndy East, historian and Mr. James, teacher representative. |
