Highland High scored a touchdown in each of the four quarters to capture a 28-0 victory vic-tory over Viewmont for the third spot from Region Four. THE VICTORY sends the Rams into the state tournament tourna-ment on Saturday while the Vikings will have to wait till next season. In the first half it was their own mistakes that hurt the Vikings as both Ram scores came as a result of a View mont error. The first touchdown came following a pass inter-ferrence inter-ferrence call on the Vikes on a third and fifteen situation. THE CALL gave the Rams the ball on the Viking 20 yard line where Jim Cowley hit Moorie Moore for the score. The kick was good and with just over seven minutes left in the first quarter the Rams led 7-0. Their second score was set up by a fumble of a punt by the Vikes. After (heir defense had held the Vikes forced the Rams to punt only to see Rob Moon fumble with a Highland player falling on it inside the Viking 40 yard line. AGAIN COWLEY went to the air and found Rick Warner from 18 yards out. the kick made it 14-0 at half. The bigger Rams finally wore down the game Vikings in the second half as they grinded out a couple of scores. They would have had another but Tad Lindsay recovered a fumble in the endzone to end one threat. THE VIKING offense never did untrack, some feel it was due to the absence of Steve Caputo w ho had to watch from the sidelines with an injured hip. Gregg Boothe was also singled sing-led out by his coaches for his effort in his last high school game. Gregg was always chasing chas-ing down the Ram passer. CREDIT MIST go to this football team from Viewmont. Very few felt they would be in the hunt for a state berth and for them to finish league play with a 3-2 mark was a great accomplishment.
