Uintah will host Jordan, Thursday and Tooele, Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Vernal Junior High won the tournament tour-nament with the following scores: Vernal 50-Rangely 46; Vernal 68-Rifle 60 and Vernal 53-Steamboat Springs 50. Tim Hadlock was named the outstanding out-standing player of the Craig Tournament. Tour-nament. In the three games played, Tim scored 96 points for an average of 32 points per game. In the 13 ames played this year Tim has scored a total of 370 points for a 28.4 average per game. When this team was 7th graders they had a record of 6 wins and 1 loss, and they won the Meeker Tournament. When they were 8th graders they had a record of 8 wins and 1 loss; and they placed third in the Meeker Tournament. Tour-nament. This year as 9th graders they won both "the Craig arid the Roosevelt Tournament' and ended the' season with :' 13 wins and 0 losses. Uintah battled Union for the division title in 1968, and the story of the games follow as it was printed in the Vernal Express on May 9, 1968. UINTAH DEFEATS UNION TO WIN DIVISION BASEBALL TITLE Uintah won the Northern Division title in baseball Saturday by defeating Union in two of the three games played on the Uintah High School field during the day. The scores for the games were 4 to 3 in favor of Union in the first game; 10-8 and 3-2 in the second and third games in favor of Uintah. Uintah led the first game, 3-0, until the seventh inning when Union scored three runs to tie up the game. It took three extra innings before Union scored the winning run, making the game 4-3 in their favor. Ricky Mojodo was the winning pitcher. pit-cher. Jim Malone was the losing pitcher, pit-cher, playing a great game. He struck out 20 Union players, but his team failed to get him the runs. The Utes pulled together in the second game to beat Union 10-8. Duane Hanberg was the winning pitcher and Greg Gollaher the losing pitcher. With a score of 3-2 Uintah took the third game. Ken Edrington, a sophomore, was the winning pitcher and Jim Marshall was the losing pitcher. pit-cher. The big hit of the game was a homer by another sophomore, Bill Johnson. Joe Murray was the outstanding out-standing player for Uintah with four hits in seven at bats and two sacrifices.
