Show Dinosaur Monument to be feature on TV April 17 Dinosaur National Monument will feature in the new Public Broadcasting Service Science series 3-2-1-Contact to be shown on Salt Lake Channel 7 Thursday, April 17 at 12 noon. This information in-formation was released this week by Superintendent Joe L. Kennedy. "The program will be in two parts; a look at the dinosaur quarry operations in the Visitor Center; and an exploratory ex-ploratory raft trip down the Green River," said Superintendent Kennedy. 3-2-1-Contact is a new science series aimed primarily at school-age children in grades three through six. According to PBS officials, this program fits into the week where the concepts of "Big and Little" are being explored. In the Program, "Lisa" (one of the three "regulars" of the 3-2-1-Contact staff) interviews Denny Davies and Jim Adams of the Monument staff to determine what clues fossils give scientists regarding the environment and sizes of the ancient dinosaurs. Museum Technician "Tobe" Wilkins is shows doing some of the intricate work that makes him one of the world's best fossil preparers. |
