Show L Vernal Glenda Landon Phone 789-2417 David E. Brown transferred to Elko, Nevada David E. Brown who has been assistant County Supervisor in the Vernal office of the Farmers Home Administration has received a promotion and will transfer to Elko, Nevada, where he will be County Supervisor. He and his wife Robin were in Elko three days last week to look for a home and while there they made arrangements to have one built. They and their 3 children have lived in Vernal for the past 1M years. They are planning to move about May 1. Mrs. Leona Boldt of Grand Junction, Colo, is staying with her sister, Lola Anderson, for a two weeks' visit with family members and friends. She looks quite well and seems to be feeling better. She will be going home about the end of the week. Mrs. Rulon (Linda) Cammack and her little year -old son of American Falls, Idaho, have been here for a weeks' visit with her grandmother, Tess Siddoway, Craig and Marilyn Caldwell, and other relatives and friends. Craig Caldwell will take her home about the middle of this week. Dave and Dorothy Anderson of Idaho Falls were also here for about a week to visit Tess Siddoway and her family. . ; ' Mr. arid Mrs. George (Hazel) Nay of ; Moab were visiting at the Don Gibbs : home and with other friends and relatives two days last week. Mr. Nay :'; was a government trapper here for !' about 25 years, but is now retired. Their ' daughter, Lorraine Ericson, from :;: -Grand Junction also came with them. '" Mrs. Jack (Nancy) Rood and her . ..little son, Alexander, 214, flew to Vernal Monday for a 10-day visit with her ' ' parents, Lou and Shirley Hatch and " family and her grandmother, Iva S. Wilson. Nancy's brother, Mike Hatch, '; will take her home to Torrance, California at the end of this week. Rory and Karen (Riddle) Hatch S welcomed their first child, a son, on April 9. He weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. and is 20Vfe inches long, and will be named ' Steven Kayle. His grandparents are Benny and Jean Riddle and Lou and r Shirley Hatch. His great grandparents ;r are Iva Wilson of Vernal and M.A. and Ruth Riddle of Texas. , ; Mr. and Mrs. Jay (Laurie) Madsen and two children, Nathan and Tyler . : came to Vernal on Friday to visit his parents, the Harvey Madsens, for the weekend. They have been living in Woodland, California, but are moving to Salt Lake City and will be living in the Hunter area. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin (Ortell) Hansen from Ogden visited Monday and Tuesday of last week with Mr. and Mrs. ''- George Wall. The Walls and the Han-:: Han-:: . sens visited Tuesday afternoon in . "Jensen at the Howard Cowan home. ;.' ;The Hansens came here shortly after their marriage. He was principal and teacher in the Jensen school in 1941-42, i and his wife taught school, there, too. They also visited their son Craig and , his family who live in La point. Craig is employed by the U.S. Geological '. Survey in Vemai. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Wm. B. Wallis spent conference weekend in Salt Lake City - where they were able to visit their youngest son, Budge, his wife Linda, r and two of their five children who had r flown out for conference. The Wallis' also visited their two daughters, i Gloria Rytting and Carolyn Winegar and their families who live in Salt Lake :;: City. I ' Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Stringham ;: , recently returned to Vernal after spending the winter in St. George. They spent Wednesday through Saturday of last week in Provo where they attended meetings, in Salt Lake City on business, and in Ogden where they visited Lottie's Lot-tie's son and family. Mr. Jerry Hatch was in the hospital several days last week. He now feels much improved and is recuperating at home. A plump and pretty baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Chuck (Stacy) Martin of Salt Lake City on April 1. She is their first child and will be named Brittany Diane. She weighed 9 lbs. 2"2 oz. and is 21 "2 inches long. She is the second grandchild of Gary and Shanna Taylor. Shanna went to Salt Lake City that day and remained for about 2 weeks to help in the home. She returned to Vernal Sunday night. |
