Show Former resident succumbs in Spanish Fork Leona Goodrich Manwaring, 91, died April 4, 1980 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grant (Hope) Williams, in Spanish Fork. Born August 31, 1888, Vernal, to George Albert and Harriet Maria Taggart Goodrich. Married David Elmer Manwaring Sept. 14, 1910 in Salt Lake LDS temple. He died May 6, 1979. She attended the University of Utah and taught school for five years in Naples. She held many teaching assignments in the LDS church auxiliaries. Served as Relief Society president in Ballard Ward, Roosevelt stake, for eight years. Survivors include: sister, Mrs. Arvil (Ruth) Stone, Lehi; daughters, Mrs. F. Walter (Hazel) Hilbig; Mrs. Deloy (June) Andreasen; both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Elvyn I. (Venice) Bascom, Roosevelt; Mr. Grant G. (Hope) Williams, Spanish Fork; son, Perry E. Manwaring, Claremont, Calif.,; 20 grandchildren; 80 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. Funeral services were Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Grant 5th Ward. Interment was in Sunset Gardens of the Valley. |
