Show Jensen 1 Gladys Peterson I Open house April 24 An open house will be held for Jonna .Wilkens and Jim Gates who will be married soon. Hostessing the event will be her sister ReAnn Sessions and friend Karen Gross. This event will take place at the Danny Sessions home on Thursday, Thurs-day, April 24 between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m. All friends and relatives of the couple are invited to come and share this happy event for them. The couple will reside in Jensen after their marriage. Christy Wall, wife of Scott, was baptized Saturday night by her grandfather, grand-father, Doug Chew. We congratulate Christy for taking this step in her life. Beth, Christy and Cindy Wall traveled to Roosevelt this last week to visit Beth's parents, the Tom Robbins. Mrs. Terry (Colleen) Wall and son Shane, visited with the Gary Walls this last week. Tina Phillips visited with her grandparents, the George Grosses. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Philips of Vernal. Gertrude Turner was honored by a visit from her two sisters. Vernal Utah Stake Conference will be held April 27 at which time there will be no meetings held in Jensen Ward. Congratulations to Bill and Jaralee Wettstein who were married in the Salt Lake Temple Saturday, April 12. Those who accompanied them from here were Bishop and Tamera Morrill, the Greg Sharps, the Ralph Sharps, Randy Sharp and Peggy Tolman. We are happy to know that Newell Snow is home from the hospital and hope that he will do all right now. Art Murray is home again after staying a few days in the Uintah County Hospital. Marba Ainge stayed a few days with her mother, Mary Peterson, before .going back home to Rangely. Susan Moody and friend from Meeker, Colorado came through to Vernal last week and before going home they stopped to see Susan's grandmother, Mary Peterson. Rose Murray is our new Watkins distributor and we are glad' she is handling this line of business and hope she is successful in her new venture. The American Cancer Drive was under the supervision of Patty Snow this year and we commend her on the fine job she did of handling it. A bridal shower was given for Valerie Davis, Saturday, April 12 at her grandmother's, Charlott Davis, home. Her relatives were in attendance. There were approximately twenty there. A special childrens program was held for Sunday Sacrament meeting, with the Primary children all participating. Boyd Snow and his father Ross, went to Salt Lake City this last week where Boyd saw his specialist. Jack Ruppe had to go into Salt Lake City to a foot specialist and went into Cottonwood Hospital for an operation. Accompanying him there were his wife Reita, and son and his wife, Lorn and Cindy. While at the hospital, Eugene Woody and Fritz Begay came and visited with them. Reita called her brother, DeLoy Winder. While their parents were gone, the three children stayed with their grandmother, Reva Ruppe of Naples and their relatives, the Fran Petersons of Jensen. Jack is home now but has to stay off his feet for six weeks. The time would pass much faster if he received cards, letters and visits from relatives and friends. The community has been saddened by the passing of another of our senior citizens as we heard of the death of Crawford MacKnight. Donnett Heit and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Casperson were in to see their folks, the Meril Snows. They came to help with the branding of calves. Mikell Peterson and Wilbert Woody also were called on to help. Mary NeTl stayed at home and cared for the small children. A young marrieds progressive supper was held Friday night, under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Murray. Hor d'vourves were enjoyed at the home of Bill and Arlene Thomson, then the salads were at Mervin and Audrey Dudley's. Next they went to Bishop Lyn and Tamera Morrills for casseroles and the dessert was served at George and Tina Turner's home. A fun time was had by all in attendance. There were about 40 guests. Mr. and Mrs. Clay Johnson and two sons traveled to Salt Lake City Friday to see relatives. The Russ Cases were in Seattle, Washington area on vacation. They visited with Marion's folks while there. They returned home Thursday. |
