Show Alice Shearer to speak at seminar Alice Shearer, councilwoman, Salt Lake City, will be guest speaker at a 6 p.m. dinner at the - Frontier Grill, Roosevelt, Saturday, April 19. She is being sponsored by the Roosevelt Business and Professional Women's Club in conjunction with the UNA Workshop. Alice graduated with honors in history. University of Kansas, Phi Beta Kappa; attended graduate school, U. of U; and is a graduate of BYU-Law School course on grants and cooperative agreements. During the dinner meeting, Alice will speak on events in the past legislative session and what it's like to be a city councilwoman and some of the problems cities have now facing them in the state. The dinner meeting will culminate the full day seminar "For Women and Others No. 2" being co-sponsored by: Uintah Basin Area Vocational Center, Utah State University Education Center, Utah Nurses Association and Roosevelt Business and Professional Women. The seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Uintah Basin Area Vocational Center. Keynote speaker will be Esther Landa, Salt Lake City, presidential advisor and prominent in civic and Jewish acitivities at the local, state and national levels. Other speakers will be Judy Wolbach, Salt Lake City, attorney-at-law and Irene Fisher, Salt Lake City, prominent in civic activities such as League of Women Voters, Cost-off and groups concerned with problems of low income families.
