Show March Of Dimes .... . j Porchlight Parade To Climax Polio Drive Next week will find the 1952 March of Dimes campaign in Duchesne County in its final week, which will be climaxed' Jan. 31, by the annual Porch-light Porch-light Parade, staged between the hours of 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.,! which Mayor Homer P. Edwards . has proclaimed as polio hour, when a mother in each block will call at all homes in that section to collect a voluntary polio donation. Polio hour will commence with the blowing of sirens and the ringing of bells to remind all citizens to turn on their porch lights. According to Mrs. Anthon Christensen, Roosevelt chairman, at 8:00 p.m. some mother, being sponsored as polio mother from certain clubs, will be crowned j Roosevelt's "Polio Queen," as the result of the highest contributions contri-butions made to her credit dur-jing dur-jing the polio hour. The money ! received will be counted between be-tween 7:30 and 8:00 p.m.. at which time Mayor Edwards will crown the "Polio Queen" at the city building and present her with a dozen roses. All organizations in Roosevelt had the privilege of entering a mother with a $5.00 contribution. contribu-tion. Any .way they wish to raise polio funds and pledge them to their chosen mother is entirely up to the individual clubs, but all money collected during the Porchlight Parade is to be credited to some polio mother. Everyone wishing to donate do-nate to the March of Dimes is asked to turn on the porch light or place a lantern or flashlight in the window. Mothers being sponsored by the various organizations are as follows: Mrs. Harold Timothy, 'junior Culture; Mrs. Eldon 1 Wright, Socialette; Mrs. Thomas R. Todd, Lions; Mrs. Louisa 'Campbell, Kiwanis; and Mrs. R. IV. Larson, B.P.W. Club.
