Show The Logan City Council Action Taken in Many Minor Matters.' The Logan city council In session Wednesday night considered a grist of minor matters, and after adjourning convened to consider Mayor Edwards's appointment for policeman. Tho mayor submitted the name of Vlo Crockett for confirmation, but for some reason no vote was taken. Mr. Crockett, who has been acting as special spe-cial policeman tho past two or three weeks, was again omployed until tho next session of tho council. The Thatcher Coal company asked for tho privilege of constructing a railroad rail-road track from or near the water tank at the junction of First South and Sixth West streets, and thence running diagonally across Sixth West street to the middle of the west sldo of lot 2. block 8, plat "A," for the purpose of hauling coal across said street. There was no action because a check did not accompany the petition. George Parsons asked, for the return of $0 forfeited by him in falling to appear ap-pear In court on March p. He appeared ap-peared on the 28th and was fined. His request was referred to the attorney attor-ney for investigation. C T. Barrett and others asked for extension of watermalns. This was referred. An obligation of E. W. Mohr was cancelled on account of that gentleman's gentle-man's misfortunes. Bids for the three-cornered piece of property known as the temple reservoir reser-voir site were opened. Captain H. R. Perry offered 9251; Joseph E. Cardon bid $502 50. The council nearly fell over itself In its hurry to accept the bid of Mr. Cardon. A bid of the M. &.L. Wood and Coal company for the lease of the city park grounds for two years at an annual rental of S100 was accepted. A host of citizens asked that a grade from Second Bast street to the Boulevard Boule-vard be established and that all gravel removed be taken from Temple hill at the head of First North street. This was referred. Reports or Officials. W. K. Bobbins, tire chief, reported one fire for the quarter ending March 31. This was at St. John's church, the loss from smoke amounting to $5. Christen Jacobscn, building and plumbing Inspector, reported that from January 15 to March 31 he had Issued twelvo permits for buildings of a total estimated cost of $3,100; eight plumbing permits; 20 electric wire permits to Logan city plant for the Installation of 245 outlets for light, power and signs; 12 permits to Tellu-rldo Tellu-rldo company for 41 outlets; 4 permits to other electricians for 20 outlets. Tho committee on streets reported In favor of petition of J. 0. Knowles and others to extent of allowing two sidewalk boxes asked for. It was recommended rec-ommended that request for streot lights bo referred to electric light committee.
