Show Lady T-birds end season play with UNLA Ball Game The 1976 season comes to an end Friday for the Southern Utah State women's basketball team as they host University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Game time in War Memorial Fieldhouse is 7:30 p.m. UNLV will bring a record of 22-2 22-2 into the contest while riding a nine game winning streak. Debra Waddy, 5-10 junior, leads the potent Rebel attack with a 25.2 scoring average. As a team, the lady Rebels are scoring 95 points a game to their opponents' 50. On the beards, UNLV is outrebounding its foes 70 to 40. Earlier this season the mighty Rebels soundly trounced the T-Birds, T-Birds, but SUSC has improved since that encounter and should give the Rebels a tougher contest. con-test. SUSC closed out the In- termountain Conference portion of its schedule with a decisive 109-24 clobbering of N Colorado Women's College Saturday. Ail-American Ail-American candidate Cheryl Eyraud poured in 44 points as she hit on 22 of 36 shots from the field. It was a season and career high for Eyraud; it also established a new SUSC single game scoring record. Laura Bailey added 34 points, also a season and career high. She also pulled down eight rebounds. On the season Eyraud and Bailey are the lady T-Birds' leading scorers. Eyraud is hitting at 23.7 points per game with Bailey getting 12.3 points per game. A scheduled game at Snow College March 6 has been cancelled. |
