Show Lecture Series sponsored by SUSC He emphasized that each program will run between an hour and a half to two hours long. To avoid interruption of the lectures, persons attending the meetings should plan to attend the entire session. Other programs in the series include: --"Prevention and Cure of Snakebite," March 31, featuring Dr. Clifford Snyder, plastic surgeon at the Veterans Administration Ad-ministration Hospital, Salt Lake City. A series of lectures designed to expose southern Utah citizens to ideas of interest in regards to people and people problems is being sponsored this spring at Southern Utah State College. The first lecture will deal with "Sexual Awareness - Society's Crucible," March 10 from 2 - 4 p.m. in the SUSC music recital hall. Guest speaker for the lecture will be Dr. Marshall W. Kreuter, assistant professor of health science at the University of Utah, College of Health. "Dr. Kreuter will give an overview of some of the attitudes and myths in regards to I sexualitv in this societv." --"Minorities and the Professions," April 7, with Dr. Delano Meriwether, special assistant to the assistant secretary of Housing, Education and Welfare (HEW), Washington, D.C. -"Artificial Organs: , Where Are We?" May 4, with guest speaker Dr. Jack Kolff, University of Utah, Division of Artificial Organs, University Medical Center. --"Southwest '76" featuring winning papers written in regards to humanistic views of "The Development of Southwestern South-western Utah: Tradition, Change and Human Values." : - Stephen K. Harmon, spokesman for the Visiting Lecture Series, notes. "The lecture will provide an opportunity for people to understand un-derstand what sexuality means in our society and to help each j perSon develop more positive ! and healthy attitudes towards that sexuality," Harmon said. He is currently developing a patient education project I designed to reduce social distance and negative perceptions per-ceptions by patients toward physicians. ; 'in 1972 his "Health Dilemmas ' of the Urban Poor" workshop ! was named the most outstanding ! summer school program in the western United States.. In 1973 he received the University of Utah's Distinguished Teaching Award, i He is currently serving on a . number of health-related task forces for the State of Utah, is on the board of directors for Odyssey House, and is an avid public speaker in health education. "Dr. Kreuter, as are the other visiting lecture speakers, is an extremely interesting speaker.
