Show Wayne Hinton to present slide lecture on Revolutionary Battles "Attacks, Raids and Skirmishes" Skir-mishes" will be the topic of a special Bicentennial program March 9 at Southern Utah State College. The program will be held in the SUSC music recital hall beginning begin-ning at 11 a.m. "The early battles of the Revolutionary War are some of the most fascinating events in our history and we sincerely hope that the community will take the opportunity to attend the meeting," Dennis E. Agle, spokesman for the SUSC Bicentennial Committee, said. Guest speaker for the program will be Wayne K. Hinton, assistant professor of history, who will present a slide lecture dealing with early battles of the Revolution including those at Lexington, Concord, Bunker Hill, Saratoga, Trenton, and Princeton. Prin-ceton. "An interesting factor which will be brought out during the presentation is that British bungles were more responsible for some of the American victories vic-tories than was American martial prowess," Agle noted. The Bicentennial program is one in a series of nine monthly meetings being held during the 1975-76 school year which deal with important events, personalities per-sonalities and consequences of the Revolution. |
