Show NEW HARMONY NEWS Those attending from SUSC were Pauline Beacher of Bountiful, Utah; Nancy Braegger coming from Willard; Georgia Mcguire from Heber; and Mr. Clete Holmes of Toquerville. This young group entertained us with original songs written by Miss Mcguire. They also played various songs on the fiddle. All in all, we had a very enjoyable 'time "We would like to thank the scout leaders for the help they give the New Harmony young people. Special thanks goes to Mr. Herb Schlosser, Scout Leader, and his assistance, Mr. Lowell Prince, and Mr. Vivian Prince. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Pearce of New Harmony traveled to Las Vegas, Nev. to visit with their children. They helped their twin grandsons celebrate their first birthday. For the fans of the New Harmony Har-mony Basketball team, we would like to report that New Harmony had their first successful week this Thursday. They played the Cedar City 2nd Ward and only lost by 19 points. Believe me this was one of their best games. We love them, and we do appreicate their efforts. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Schmutz have returned home from Salt Lake. Eldon underwent eye surgery while there. He is improving im-proving very rapidly. By Marva Prince At the time of this writing, I would like to report that New Harmony is having beautiful weather. If it wasn't for our apple crops, we could almost enjoy this weather for as long as it would like to stay with us. Cedar West Stake Relief Society leaders, Sister Edith Stokes, Sister Sidney Naunie and h-Sister h-Sister Loa Johnson, visited New Harmony Ward Relief Society on Tuesday. We do enjoy these ladies and the spirit they bring with them. Mr. Anthon Pace was in Salt Lake City a couple of days this week. He returned home Friday afternoon. Esta Taylor was in charge of the New Harmony sewing club on Thursday of this week. Those in attendance at this gathering were Mamie Huntsman, Venice Prince, Wilma Pace, and Marva Prince. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kelsey are currently vacationing in Calif, with some of their close friends. The couples are in Monteray, Calif, for about a week. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Pace left Friday morning to go to Salt Lake to meet their son Mr. Robert Pace. Robert is on his way home from a trip to Columbus, Ohio, to his home in the State of Washington. After visiting with Robert, Leslie and Wilma will travel to Grand Junction, Colorado to visit with their daughter, Carolyn and family. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Prince of; Logandale, Nev. and Mr. and Mrs. E. Switzer of California visited in New Harmony on Wednesday of this week. Reed and Laura were accompanied by their small grandson, Timmy Gordon. Word was received from Mrs. Laverna Englestead that she is doing fine. She is staying with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gollmer of Cerritos, Calif. Aunt Laverna stays with them during the winter months. She is missed by her friends of New Harmony, and we hope she is well and happy. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Davis, MLs Merilee Davis and Miss Mony Lewis and Mrs. Carma Williams all of Kanarra were recent visitors at the home of their aunt, Mrs. Vivian Prince. Mrs. Prince was celebrating her birthday. Miss Lewis accompanied ac-companied the Davises. Miss Becky Whetten and her friend visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Prince and family on Sunday of this week. Becky's family were in the mission field while Lowell was laboring in the New Mexico area of his mission. Mrs. Anthon Pace is visiting in St. George with her mother, Mrs. Olive Blake. Sally is also doing temple work while there. Friday night, the New Harmony Har-mony Scout Troop and Explorers had a very successful ham dinner. After the dinner those in attendance were privileged to hear a program from students of Southern Utah State College. |
