Show Large Group Answers Track and Field, Tennis Call at PHS With the clearing and warming warm-ing trend of this week, the track and field and tennis activities at the high school took on added interest according to Lowell Caldwell, Cald-well, coach for these departments depart-ments of the physical education program. Caldwell's call for the above activities was answered by 45 aspirants in the two sports. Two lettermen, Ken Watson and Mahlon Dalley reported for tennis with squad member Brent Adams. Also reporting were 12 real good freshmen and sophomores, sopho-mores, who have played some. Regular meets with other schools of the region are being arranged in tennis, with early meets to be held in the Dixie area. Returning lettermen in the track and field sport, include Allen Al-len Lister, Garth Decker, Phil Burt, Mike Hulet, Randy Bent-ley, Bent-ley, Wayne Stubbs and Wayne Rowley, with several of them being be-ing only sophomores this year. This group specializes in the running run-ning events and broad jump. Add to these Paul Chamberlain, Chamber-lain, Larry Topham and Rick Evans in the field events and Caldwell , feels he has the nucleus nu-cleus of a good squad with all aspirants showing much interest in the verious events. In all 25 boys are working out when the weather is favorable. The first track and field meet in which the Parowan High boys will enter will be the Dixie invitational in-vitational slated for Saturday, April 2, with meets slated for almost al-most every week end until the state meet in May. |
