Show L II II NATIONAL WILDLIFE WEEK. These boys of Boy Scout Troop No. 333 of Cedar City have taken on the project of promoting National Wildlife Week, now in session. Literature, Litera-ture, held on the left by Sterling Simkins, and posters, held center by Ray Maxwell, were distributed by the troop. National Wildlife Week Proclaimed Mayor Loren Whetten of Cedar City proclaimed the week of March 20 through 26 as National Wildlife Week in Cedar City and has called to the attention of resi-dents resi-dents the need for preservation and maintenance of our natural resources. The annual event is being observed ob-served throughout the nation and the preservation of national beauty will be featured during the week long celebration. "New Federal and State laws and programs will be of tremendous tremend-ous value; in cleaning up or screenine distasteful features which mar the scenic beauty along highways", Ron Frederick-son, Frederick-son, president of the Utah Wildlife Wild-life Federation, points out. "However, "How-ever, there are many other areas where significant efforts can be made to preserve natural beauty and enrich outdoor experiences such as fishing, hunting, camping, camp-ing, boating, picnicing, and hiking. hik-ing. The list of "can-do's" for both conservation and for the preservation preser-vation of natural beauty is almost al-most endless if we have the desire and determination to have beautiful things around us. This attitude toward preservation of beauty is worth adopting, worth working for; our lives will be richer if we do, the state president presi-dent emphasized in calling attention atten-tion to the observance. |
