Show Thunderbirds Open Home Baseball Stand Here Friday Its been a long week of basket-! ball and without any pause, sports fans of the area can nowj turn to baseball with a fourj game series on tap Friday andj Saturday for the College of Sout- nein uiaii luuuLiuiiua. Coach Cleo Petty and his T-Birds T-Birds will tangle Friday afternoon after-noon in a double header with Weber State College of Ogden and Saturday will take on the Rebels of Dixie College. On both days the T-Birds will play two, seven inning games. In the series the CSU crew will be attempting to break their double header jinx of winning one and losing one. To date the T-Birds have had four double headers and have won four and lost four splitting the pair every time. Games are slated to begin at 1 p. m. both days on the Municipal Munici-pal diamond. The Wildcats of Weber opened their season this week and began Wednesday afternoon at Las Vegas, Veg-as, Nev. against Nevada Southern. Thursday they meet Dixie College Col-lege at St. George and windup the week end road trip Friday here at Cedar City. An earlier match between the T-Birds and the Rebels of Dixie was postponed and it will be the first meeting of these two for the season. |
