Show I Redmen Diamond Threat Go Ahead in Region I Cedar High School baseball team took another step toward its defense of the Region Ten I crown Friday afternoon when I they defeated Parowan 22 to 2. It gave Coach Bruce Decker's team a 2 win and no loss record. Region schedule calls for only four games In the five team league, and the Redmen have only on-ly two more contests to complete. They will meet Enterprise on the Cedar City field Thursday afternoon after-noon at 3 and the following week they will travel to Hurricane for the conclusion of league play. Hurricane Tigers are yet undefeated, unde-feated, holding victories over Enterprise En-terprise and Kanab. Parowan also al-so defeated Enterprise and Wednesday Wed-nesday of this week they met Hurricane Against Parowan the Redmen had three pitchers on the mound. .Steve Cahoon was the winner, going the first three frames. He allowed only two of the Rams to reach base, one on a bunt hit and the second on a walk. He gave way to Kent Smith In the fourth and fifth and Lory Misel finished the game, pitching the sixth and seventh. The Rams' two runs came off Smith. Two home runs were pounded out by the Redmen with Cahoon belting the first in the first inning in-ning with a runner on base. Calvin Cal-vin Hair also homered with a terrific blast over the centerfield-ers centerfield-ers head. Dennis Lowder was the losing pitcher for Coach John Wood's Rams. He gave wav to Ron Smith and Smith was relieved by Ken-von Ken-von Clark Coach Wood. However, had to call on Lowder In the seventh inning to come back on the mound for the final two outs. All members of the Redmen squad saw action in the contest |
