Show Zilpha Lewis Dalton Accorded Last Rites; Funeral services were held for Mrs. Zilpha Lewis Dalton, 59, last , Saturday at 2 p. m. m the First-Second First-Second . Ward chapel. Mrs. Dalton, Dal-ton, wife of Meeks Dalton, died at her home early Wednesday morning following a heart attack. at-tack. ' The services were conducted by Bishop Harley W. Dalton, with Barbara Jane Bayles at the organ for prelude and postlude music. Other musical numbers on the program were the opening and closing songs, "My Task," and "Peace Be with Thee," respectively, respect-ively, by the Singing Mothers, under the direction of Cherie Day with Vyonne Chamberlain at the piano, and a vocal solo, "Oh Dry Those Tears," by L. N. Asay with Miss Bayles at . the organ and Mrs. Chamberlain at the piano. ! Speakers were Phoebe Taylor, who gave a brief history of the life of the deceased; Pres. Howard How-ard D. Knight and Barbara M. Adams. j The prayer at the home prior to the services was by Edgar Benson. The invocation Was by Herman E. Bayles, the benediction benedic-tion by Mario Topham and the grave in the Parowan City cemetery ceme-tery was dedicated by a 6ori, Lewis Dalton. I Mrs. Dalton was born in Mexico Mex-ico on Nov. 9, 1900, a daughter of George Frederick Lewis and Mary Adelaid Huff Lewis. She was married to Meeks Dalton on July 4,-1919 at Kanab, Utah. This union un-ion was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. She had bt-en very active In 'the Parowan Unit of the American Ameri-can Legion Auxiliary and In the organizations of the LDS Church. She had served as work-day leader lead-er in her ward Relief Society for many years and was well known in this area for her fine ait work and handicraft work, especially ,ln making artificial flowers, etc. I Survivors are her husband of , Parowan, and the following sons and daughters: J. Lewis,; Nor-walk, Nor-walk, Calif.; Lloyd M Murray; Arrold. Salt Lake City; Edward, Elko, Nev.; Mrs. Harold (May) Barrick, Provo, and Mrs. George (Diane) Merkley, Vernal. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren' and. the following brothers and sisters: Charles Lewis, Glendale, Ariz.;.. Albert .Lewis, Zanesvllle, Ohio; Mrs., Dewey Bentley, Ventura, Ven-tura, Calif., and Mrs. Emily Barton, Bar-ton, Murray. . . ? . - V ' ' v |
