Powell, manager of the Provo Social Security Administration Adminis-tration district office, to workt-rs who plan to file early in 1958. 1957 earnings are required for computation of benefits for claims filed in 1958. Employers had until Jan 31 to file their quarterly social security returns for their employees with the Director Di-rector of Internal Revenue. Therefor, There-for, Social Security Administration Administra-tion records for individual employees em-ployees will not reflect 1957 earnings completely for several months. Form W-2, withholding statement, state-ment, however, shows complete earnings and social security contributions con-tributions for 1957. It is given to the employee in duplicate. One is for attachment to the income in-come tax return and one is for the employee's files. Self-employed individuals who plan to file in 1958, Mr. Powell stated, should submit a copy of their 1957 tax returns including Schedule C and SE. plus a cancelled can-celled check or other evidence that the tax was paid. A representative of the social security office may be contacted at the Utah State Employment Service, Cedar City, on Mar. 4. between 9 a. m. and 3 p. m., if anyone desires further information informa-tion about social security. |
