Show Cedar City Social Swing I Announcing the arrival of a new baby are Dr. and Mr. G. Robert Parry, Jr. of Chicago, 111. The new baby, a boy, born on Jan. 8 Is the third child for the Parrys. Dr. Parry, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gronway . Parry, is o' resident doctor at the Wesley' Memorial Hospital In Chicago, the grandparents are anxiously anxious-ly awaiting his completion of residency, at which time they, anticipate a visit and a cfc-nJ to become acquainted with the' newest family member. I Mrs. Mary Bishcp of Salt Lake City spent last week visiting In Cedar City with her daughter ind family, Mrs. Vergene Sim-; kins. During her stay a grand-1 daughter, Mrs. Herman Anderson, Ander-son, entertained at luncheon for her. Mrs. Bishop returned to her home on Monday. I Receiving word' of the arrival of a new granddaughter, born Feb. 12, Is Mrs. Dorothy Ronnow. Proud parents of the little girl are Mr. and Mrs. Gael Llndstrom of Logan, Utah. Mrs. Lindstrom is the former Marilyn Ronnow. j Attending the St. George Jamboree Jam-boree last Saturday evening were members of the Hey Cedars club: Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Nelson, Nel-son, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ence, the Shep Syretts, Mr. and Mr. Mark Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Chamberlain and Mr. and Mrs. Tone Fife. The dancers all report having had a very enjoyable en-joyable time. Sewing was enjoyed by club members as they gathered at the home of Mrs. Lorin Hirschi Monday evening. Guest for the Km evening was Mrs.' Albert Harrison. Harri-son. The hostess served light refreshments re-freshments after which the ladies lad-ies visited and worked on their sewing items. Traveling to St. George on Friday Fri-day for an evening of dancing at the Jamboree were Mr. ana Mrs. Joe Banks and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Llnford. j Birthday- greetings were re-, re-, celved by Elise Ence as she celebrated cele-brated her eighth birthday on Wednesday afternoon. Twenty of her little girl and boy friends gathered at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas j Ence, for an afternoon of games and refreshments. Following the traditional blowing of the candles can-dles on the decorated cake the guest of honor opened her many gifts. Hostess to her sewing club on Thursday of last week was Mrs. Roy P. Urie. The ladies spent the evening sowing and visiting after af-ter which the hostess served light refreshments. Duplicate bridge was played at the home of Mrs. Clyde Higbee Hig-bee on Wednesday as she entertained enter-tained the ladie- of her club. Mrs. Higbee in ied Mrs. Thomas Tho-mas B. Evans and Mrs. Adrian Bunting as guests for the evening. eve-ning. Enjoying the evenir- together were Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Cooley, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Stephenson and Mr. and Mrs. Haze'n Cooley. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Palmer of Topaz Lake resort. Calif.., and their son were house guests last week of Mrs. Palmer's sister and husband. Mr. and Mrs. Duard Sehoppman. The Palmers also enjoyed visiting with Mrs. Palmer's Palm-er's mother, Mrs. Janie Richards in Parowan. Mrs. Page Knell invited Mrs. George Halterman, Mrs. Neil Boyter, Mrs. J. V. Bauer, Mrs. Whitney Jensen. Mrs. L. D. Wat- ; son, Mrs. Elmo Orton, Mrs. Milton Mil-ton Hvatt. Mrs. Floyd Matheson, Miss &arah Macfarlane and Mrs. Alex Spevak to her home on Thursday for an evening of sew-ing sew-ing and visiting. The club ladies later enjoyed refreshments served serv-ed by the hostess. The Cazania Club was entertained enter-tained last Wednesday by Mrs. J. V. Bauer. The ladies enjoyed sewing and visiting following a short business meeting under the direction of President Virginia Virgin-ia Ogden. Refreshments were served by the hostess. Special guest was Mrs. J. R. Judd. Mrs. Edwin Gale' bid members of her sewing club to her home on Tuesday for an evening of working on handwork. Guest for the evening was Mrs. Kith Av-erett. Av-erett. The group was. later joined by Mr. and Mrs. Dan Crawford and formed a square at the outstanding outstand-ing St. George Square Dancing Jamboree. Mr. and Mrs. George Washington Wash-ington Hunter began an extend- ed vacation as they left Cedar City the first of the week. They anticipated a trip to Mexico and to points of Interest within the States. The couple plan to be traveling for about a month. Mrs. Elmo Mitchell entertained he: pinochle club last week. Prizes for the evening's play were won hy Mrs. Keith Guymon and Mrs. Lloyd Olds. The hostess later la-ter served a luncheon which was enjoyed by the club members and their guest, Mrs. Harry Knell.
