Show Cedar Piano Teachers Plan Gigantic Ensemble Festival All students of Cedar City's 16 piano teachers, numbering about 270 pupils will participate in a, piano ensemble festival to bo presented in the College of Southern Utah auditorium at 4 p. m. Sunday, April 20. Some ensemble selections will have four students at each of six pianos on the stages of the auditorium. Other combinations of four to six pianos will be used, one at each of four pianos and other such ensembles. Students Stu-dents at all levels of training will play. Arrangements are being be-ing made by Bernella Jones and Loa Johnson of the CSU music department. Music is presently being worked on, and ensemble rehearsals will be under way in i early April. This will be the first event of this kind in the state of Utah. Several such festivals have been held In other states with great success. The teachers who will have students participating are Bernella Ber-nella Jones, Loa Johnson. Shirley Dahl, Max Thorley, all of the CSU piano staff; Irene Hyatt, Beth Leigh, Mattie Booth, Marilyn Mari-lyn Halversen, Vivian Palmer, Ruth Seegmiller, Vivian Knell, Helen Harris, Margaret Webster, Marilyn Perry. Ada Palmer and Genie Twitchell. Students names and the program pro-gram selections will be announced an-nounced at a later time, when organization details are more complete. |
