Show Three Road Trip Losses Drop jBroncos to Fourth College of Southern Utah Broncos Bron-cos returned to Cedar City Tuesday Tues-day evening after suffering three straight setbacks in Intermoun-tain Intermoun-tain Collegiate Athletic Conference Confer-ence play to drop from a tie for first place last week to fourth place and no hope for a conference confer-ence championship. The three losses came at the ihands of first, Weber, Friday evening to the tune of 79 to 52; I second. Ricks. Saturday night in i a game which the Bronms led 'for most of the way, 80 to 71. and finally, Boise 77 to 55. Tiie Weber Wildcat defense held the Broncos Friday to on:j'j 11 field goals during the -10 min-i utes of ilav. Weber took tiie lead, early in the game and continued; to pour wuel on the coals to postj the one-sided victory. Jim Spencer was high man for the Broncos In this game with! 18 points and that was followed, by Jim Rice with only eight points. Against Ricks Saturday evening eve-ning the two clubs fought on nearly even terms thru most of the game with the Broncos holding hold-ing the lead most of the time. At Intermission time the Broncos Bron-cos had garnered a four point margin to lead 42 to 38. Early In the second half the Broncos moved out In front by 11 points holding a 57 to 46 lead. The Broncos, however, remained at 57 while the Vikings climbel up the scoring ladder and took their first lead of the half with a score of 58 to 57. The lead changed hands several times from that point, but In the final minutes the Vikings moved out in front to stay. The Broncos tallied two more field goals than Ricks in the contest, but lost the game at the foul line. Ricks hit 26 in 32 attempts at-tempts while the Broncos, who only received 18 attempts hit for 13, a deficit of 13 points In this department alone. Paul Rasmus-sen Rasmus-sen led the Bronco scoring with 21 points. High man on the floor was O'Rourke with 25. At Boise It was a rough and tumble battle for three quarters of the game. The score was tid; on several occasions but the CSU i Broncos were never able to forge' into the lead. ! Control of the bankhoardsj went to the host club, Boise, and' it was through this control that they eventually won out over the, CSU crew. The halftlme score gives an indication of the early part of the game with Boise I holding a single point edge overi the Broncos at 31 to 30.
