A crowd estimated to 1500 Jammed the Parowan gym for the final game of the regular season. With the win Coach Wood's team was crowned Millard Division Divi-sion chamj.ons for the fifth year in a row and pops into the Region Re-gion 10 playoff at Cedar City Friday Fri-day night against the undefeated undefeat-ed Dixie High Flyers to decide the region championship. The Rams have been region champs for the past three years, but are rated as underdogs in this year's playoff. They were last year, too.l Both Parowan and Milford were off on their shooting Satur-1 day, showing nervousness asi the missed shot after shot in the: first quarter, which ended with the two teams tied at 5-all. The Tigers Jumped off to a 11-5 11-5 lead as the second stanza got under wav. but the Rams camel back to tie It up at 13-all at halftime, with erratic shootine still marring the play of both teams. In the first half Parowan shot a measly 16 and Milford was little better with 17. As the third quarter started the scoring tempo went up with the teams matching shot for shot. . with Don Burton doing most of the scoring for the Rams, who drew away to a 26-23 lead as the quarter ended. The final quarter wa? about the same with Parowan Paro-wan stretching the lead to five points at one time, onlv to see the gap close again. With 2Vi minutes left and a three-point lead the Rams went into a stall but lost the ball on a traveling call with Milford scoring to close the gao to one point which Parowan Paro-wan clung onto. In the second half the Rams shot 67 from the field with Burton getting eight field goals In 11 tries to lead all scoring with 20 points. Parowan got 20 field goals to 17 for Milford but got only 3 of 11 tries from the foul line to 8 of 14 for Milford. Bown led the Milford scoring with 15 points, followed by Bel-liston Bel-liston with 13. Thornton with 12 points was next high scorer for Parowan. In the other game last week end Delta came to Beaver and took a 75 to 48 defeat from the Beavers. In midweek games Milford Mil-ford trounced Beaver and Delta took the measure of Millard in a close one at Fillmore. In the Parowan-MIIford junior varsity game Saturday night the Parowan boya won a close one by a 50-47 score.
