Show George W. Grimshaw Retires from Post Office Duties 0 GEORGE W. GHIMSHAW George V. Grimshaw, popular clerk at the Cedar City Post office, of-fice, will retire from his position on July 1, according to Postmaster Postmas-ter Rulon S. Wood. Mr. Grimshaw is retiring with 284 years of service ser-vice at the local post office, with his World War I experience bringing his years of creditable service to 30. Grimshaw was the first mall carrier in Cedar City. When home delivery mail service was established estab-lished he became the first mail carrier, and later returned to the position of clerk, the position he held before delivery service began. be-gan. A very active church worker over the years Mr. Grimshaw Is currently serving as Cedar Stake Patriarch for the LDS Church. He1 was a member of the Cedar Stake High Council for 12 years and was bishop of the Cedar First Ward. He also served as counselor counse-lor to Bishop Franklin B. Wood, and was serving in that capacity when the Cedar First Ward chapel cha-pel was built. Also active In civic affairs he was a charter member of the Cedar Ce-dar Master Singers, men's chorus chor-us and has held numerous offices of-fices in the Cedar Post of the American Legion. Mr. and Mrs. Grimshaw plan to spend the coming year in Lo- Time working In the Logan temple tem-ple while their daughter Eleanor atetends Utah State University. |
