Show Recreation Program Offers Large Variety of Activity The Parowan City recreation program is getting under way in good shape at the present time according to John Wood, supervisor. super-visor. He reports that he has a little league baseball program un-dar un-dar way, that both the boys and girls of Parowan and Paragonah are going to Cedar to swim once a week, and he is now getting tennis and girls' Softball programs pro-grams under way. Wood has four little league teams organized and playing a regular schedule on Monday and Wednesday of each week. He also al-so takes one of the teams to Cedar Ce-dar on Tuesday and another on Thursday of each week to compete com-pete in the Cedar minor league. This makes it possible for each of the four teams to play in Cedar Ce-dar every other week. The games on the local field are played in the evening on Monday and Wednesday. The boys are taken to Cedar each Thursday morning and the girls go each Friday morning to swim and are given swimming Instruction at the Cedar City pool. The bus leaves with the boys at 8 a. m. and with the girls at 9:15 with Paragonah youngsters picked pick-ed up about 15 minutes earlier each morning. The girls of the city unJer MIA age are learning the game of Softball with regular practices and games being held each week. The girls are also showing much interest in tennis and are coming out regularly at 8 a. m. on Monday Mon-day and Wednesday each week to play and receive Instruction. The boys play at 9 a. m. on those days but the interest hasn't been so good up to this time and Mr. Wood is planning a more suitable suit-able schedule to encourage larger larg-er participation. |
