They were honored at reception following ceremony. Connell Mitchell, Annette Thornton Say Vows Miss Annette Thorton, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Thornton Thorn-ton and Mr. Connell Mitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mitchell, all of Parowan, exchanged marriage mar-riage vows in a double-ring ceremony cere-mony at 6:30 p. m. last Friday, in the Relief Society rooms of the First -Second Ward chapel. Bishop Howard M. Adams officiated offi-ciated In the ceremony with the members of both families and a few close friends aitending. Following Fol-lowing the ceremony a light luncheon was served. I Both the bride and groom are graduates of the Parowan High' School where both were active members of the student body. The bride has been employed for some time at the telephone office of-fice In Cedar City and the groom has attended the Provo Area Vocational Vo-cational School during the past year. Receiving guests at a wedding reception Friday at 8 p. m. in the Relief Society rooms besides the newlyweds, their parents and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Benson, were the bride's sister, Shirlce Yancy, Las Vegas, as matron ma-tron of honor, a sister Donna Jean Berry, Cedar City, Katherine Thornton, Darlene Thornton, Rose Ann Barton, Patsy Lampman,, Carl a Yancy, bridesmaids and petite pe-tite Geanle Mitchell as flower girl. Standing as best men for the groom were Donald Stubbs and Del Ray Benson and acting as ushers were Collins and Larry Mitchell, Hal Thornton and Car-lyle Car-lyle Rollins. Sandra Stevens was at the guest book. The bride's dress was of white satin with hand crocheted over-skirt. over-skirt. Her bridal bonquet was in the form of a fan with white del-pheniums del-pheniums and pale pink carnations carna-tions and blue streamers. Shirlee Yancy, Katherine Thorntort and Donna Jean Berry wore dresses of blue taffeta and the bridesmaids and flower girl wore embroidered blue organdy, and all wore white headpieces with blue veils for the bridesmaids. They wore white gloves and carried white baskets containing blue daisies. After a short honeymoon In Las Vegas the newlyweds are living In Cedar City this summer sum-mer but will move to Provo in September where Mr. Mitchell will continue his schooling in electronics at the vocational school. |
