Show City Council Handles Varied Business At December Meeting Orwin Green was appointed acting Fire Chief and William (Bill) Hills, acting assistant fire chief by the Cedar City Council in their regular session Thursday evening. The two men were elected to the positions by the Volunteer Fire Department. They will assume as-sume full responsibilities for the positions at the beginning of the year, according to Mayor Kumen Gardner. The Council, In other action, authorized the City Attorney to draw up an ordinance which would require a deposit of 550 for breaking ground for sewer and water llneii. The deposit would be used tc defray damage to already established lines, it was pointed out. The Council also signed an ordinance or-dinance vacating a portion of the Bulloch Subdivision to avoid t duplication with the Highland Circle Subdivision. Chief of Police Kent Hoyt met with the city to ask support for' a Boys Club which is being pro- posed and formulated.
