Show Cedar City Chamber of Commerce Mail Bailors, Plan New Years Eve Banquet A president, vice president and three two-year directors for the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce will be elected by postcard ballot and winners announced at the annual Chamber of Commerce New Year's tlve Banquet to be held at the CSU Student Center. Vying for the office of president are D. W. Corry, owner and operator oper-ator of Corry Real Estate Co., and Howard Thorley, manager of Thorley Ford, Inc. The new president will succeed Jack Hayes, sales manager for Radio Station KSUB, at the helm of the organization. At the banquet, which is open to the public, a report of the past year's activities will be given and entertainment will be provided in addition to the announcement of the winners of the election. The election Is being conducted by mail with ballots sent to each member of the Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, president Hayes stated. Vice presidential candidates include in-clude Earl Hansen, manager of the Cedar City office of the California-Pacific Utilities Co., and Klien Rollo, Editor of the Iron County Record. President and vice president are elected for one year only. Three board members will be named for two year terms. Keith Cripps and Max Torres will oppose each other on the ballot; as will Royce Chamberlain Chamber-lain and Robert Hansen and Jack Hayes and Pearce Shelton. Directors who will continue to serve during the next year are McRay Cloward, Dee Cowan, York Jones and Robert Bradshaw. Corry has previously served a term as president of the Chamber of Commerce and has served on many committees of the Chamber. Cham-ber. Currently he Is chairman of the committee on education which hat been instrumental in the development of a four-year liberal arts program at CSU. i Thorley has also been active in the Chamber of Commerce, serving serv-ing on many committees. He is a second counselor in the Eighth LDS Ward Bishopric.
