Show College Student Gives $100 to Library Fund At teast one College of Southern South-ern Utah student felt the Christmas Christ-mas spirit before leaving the campus for the holidays. The re suit will provide the CSU Library with a substantial number of new books. Professor A. T. Challis, CSU librarian, reported that a check for $100 was left in the student donation box In the library Friday, Fri-day, Dec. 18, the last day of fall quarter. "The donors name was on the check, but when contacted, contact-ed, the person asked to remain anonymous," he said. Mr. Challis explained that a surprising number of contributions contribu-tions are put Into the box regularly regu-larly by students but that the $100 is the largest single donation dona-tion that has been received In this manner. The collection box was placed in the library two years ago at the request of students following the organization of the Library Development Foundation in the community. The LDF is a nonprofit non-profit group dedicated to increasing increas-ing the holdings of the libraries in the area, particularly the college col-lege library. According to Mr. Challis, the students have consistently con-sistently expressed a desire to support the library and assist It 'in achieving its immediate goal jof 50,000 volumes. |
