Show Cattlemen's Association Draws Up Agenda I Iron County delegation to the Utah Cattlemen's Association convention held early this month at Salt Lake City announced this week a series of resolutions adopted by the 2000 member association. as-sociation. Among the resolutions passed during the three-day meetings were those dealing with federal regulations and particularly opposing op-posing any government restriction restric-tion or control that would tend to depress or interfer with free marketing; opposing passage of the Wilderness Bill, asking that the State Board of Big Game Control to limit the annual pheasant phea-sant hunt to three days and that the Bow and Arrow hunt be con-1 wined to areas not used for grazing graz-ing domestic livestock and that i this season be held concurrently or immediately prior to the reg- j i ular deer hunt. Further action favored enactment of legislation to reasonably regulate and control con-trol distribution of tranquilizer drugs and guns for the purpose of preventing them from coming into the hands of rustlers and thieves; recommending that the Federal Communications Commission Com-mission shall continue to permit present clear channel radio stations sta-tions to broadcast on an undup- licated frequency; requesting Utah State University to develop devel-op a feeding research program; formation of a committee and representation re-presentation on the Executive Committee of the Ut.-'h Cattlemen's Cattle-men's Association to deal with si-ecific problems confronting the cattle feeders of the state; supporting sup-porting requests from Utah State University for funds to provide a meat research laboratory; and recommending construction of an alternate highway route on the West side of Utah Lake. |
