Show National Guard Tells Opening in Academy I Applications for the next Utah National Guard's Ofi'iccr Candidate Candi-date School are now being accepted, ac-cepted, according to Maj. Gen. ; Maxwell E. Rich, Utah Adjutant General. j Any Utah Army Guardsman ' who meets the school require- j ments is eligible to apply for the ' course, which runs for two two- j week summer encampments and various weekend assemblies at ' Camp W. G. Williams. Lt. Col. I Dana F. Beck is Commandant of j the school Last year 26 new see- j ond lieutenants were commis-1 sioned upon graduation. j Interested Guardsmen are urged urg-ed to contact their immediate j commanders for further informa-1 tion and application blanks. Applicants must be in top physical condition and must be a minimum H 19 years of age and will not have reached 28 years of ao i:pon graduation. They must also be at least a corporal in rank with at least one year of National Guard duty or other prior ative duty military service. Lt. Col. Peck pointed out that the candidates, once accepted in the school, will receive pay for drills on the pay scale of their rank. Candidates may choose the branch of service they wish to enter upon getting commissioned. commission-ed. They then will attend the basic service school of their branch. : |
