Show Cooperative Group Signs Weed Specialist of State f ,1 ! : i . t' ' c I BRYANT ANDERSON Former state weed supervisor for the Utah State Department of Agriculture, Bryant Anderson, recently accepted a position with the Utah Cooperative Association, partly owned by farmers in this county, according to word received re-ceived from W. B. Robins, manager man-ager of the cooperative. The county agent, vocational agricultural teacher, and other farm leaders and groups will be visited and assisted by Mr. Anderson An-derson in their seed producing and marketing program. He intends in-tends to encourage the growth of seed in Iron county. Anderson spent this week conferring con-ferring with officials of the Utah State Agricultural college, regarding re-garding a state-wide seed marketing mar-keting program. The seed grown by Utah farmers will be marketed market-ed locally as well as nationally. UCA recently acquired Kelly Western Seed company which has been added to the association's associa-tion's modern seed service owned by 7000 Utah farmers. In his new position, Mr. Anderson Ander-son will travel about the state, assisting farmers with their seed problems and establishing seed marketing and buying cooperatives coopera-tives among farm groups. A spokesman at the Utah State Agricultural Ag-ricultural college noted that "this will be a great service to Utah farmers and will add greatly to our national seed marketing program." |
