Some 90,258 sacks of cement plus plenty of structural steel, went into construction of the imposing im-posing and beautiful Los Angeles Temple of the Mormons, scheduled sched-uled for completion this year. Nova-da. Each stone is 2'i inches thick and 8 by 7 feet square, weighing approximately 1,000 pounds. Each piece of stone is fastened to the concrete work with bolts and concrete grout. To insure a consistently high quality of concrete, the 15,012 yards of concrete used were mixed mix-ed right at the building instead of being brought ready-mixed to the job in trucks. All told,, there are 190,011 square feet of space in the temple, tem-ple, or approximately 4 ',4 acres. The over all height, including the tower, is 257 feet, 8Vi inches above the first floor. The cast aluminum, gold-leafed statue of Moroni atop the tower is 15 feet, 5'j inches high. It weighs 2,100 pounds and the length of Moroni's Moro-ni's trumpet is eight feet.
