Show j m - JUNIOR HI - L1TES by By CYNTHIA WILLIAMS The student body of the Junior High School surely has the Christmas spirit this year and they're right in harmony with winter. This spirit has been shown in many different ways; for instance, boys of the industrial indus-trial arts club have been making Christmas . fcjfts, and they are completing articles, such as magazine mag-azine racks, corner shelves, ping pong paddles, jewelry boxes, bells and rings. j While all these presents are taking shape the girls in the home economics department have busied themselves making gifts too, ranging from rag dolls, doll clothes and dainty party aprons to dresses, skirts and pajamas. These students feel that their projects are very good and they are, thinking much more of giving giv-ing than they are of receiving. Carrying out a tradition again this year, the students are con-Irlbuting con-Irlbuting to the "Christmas Chest," by putting their nickles and dimes into a fund, which later is used to purchase baskets of food, blankets, etc. that are piven to needy families and friends to help brighten their Christmas. This helps us to forget ourselves, our-selves, remember others and appreciate ap-preciate more fully the true meaning of Christmas. It is certainly cer-tainly Is a more satisfying way of celebrating the holiday than that J of drawing names and exchang- ing gifts., which has been done at" the Junior High In previous years. Don't you agree? I Friday the student body will bff favored by another assembly. This time It will be in the form tif an Art Linkletter Show. It will probably be very interesting will probably be very entortain-ing entortain-ing bocause of Us unusual script or dialogue. Last week we saw a Rood program or assembly under the direction of Diana Seegmiller. She picked talent that was "hid- den" and it gave many students a chance to perform. Two or three of our 11 o'clock classes are working hard to have everything in readiness for a coming radio propram.' This will be broadcasted sometime on the 23rd of December. It will tie in with the Christmas and the holiday season, so be listening. |
