Show Region Six Teen-Age Traffic Safety I Confab Chairmen Plan Meet Agenda Miss Sharon Clark, acting general gen-eral chairman, and Al Jensen, adult chairman, met Tuesday, Dec. 8 in an all-day session with high school and county chairmen of Region Six, to discuss definite defin-ite plans for the Teen age Traf-1 "I I V . From the meeting of the chairmen chair-men came the following recommendations recom-mendations for the conference agenda: . j 1. A parade would open the conference about 9 a. m. 2. That the opening session would Include speakers Congressman Congress-man Douglas R. Stringfellow, City Commissioner of Public Safety, Jay C. Newman, and Superintendent Superinten-dent of the Utah State Highway Patrol, Marion A. Snow. 3. It was proposed by the group that Congressman Stringfellow and Commissioner Newman would also deliver the principal addresses at the evening banquet. ban-quet. Problems which will probably come up for discussion during the conference will range in nature na-ture from tractors on highways driven by youths to the familiar "granddaddy license" problem. While in Cedar City the various chairmen were guests of the Rotary Ro-tary Club with several of the youths addressing the club. They were also shown two films, "Miracle "Mir-acle of Paradise Valley," and "Then There Were Four." These films, Mr. Jensen pointed out will be used in the organization of safety clubs throughout the region. re-gion. Turner, Dixie high school chairman; Janis Rozelle, Hurricane high school chairman; chair-man; Bill Baker, Washington County chairman; Glenna Rife, Valley high school chairman; Charnelle McAllister, Kanab high school chairman, and Thomas1 iParkes, Kane County chairman. |
