Show Last Rites Honor Mrs. Ellen Reeves Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed in Kanarraville Monday afternoon af-ternoon for Mrs. Ellen Elizabeth Perkins Reeves, 84, wife of W. C. Reeves, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennie Williams, Wil-liams, on Friday, Dec. 4, after a lingering illness. She and her husband celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on Nov. 27. Mrs. Reeves was born in Session Ses-sion Settlement, now Bountiful, Aug. 21, 1869, a daughter of Jesse N. and Maria Tuttle Perkins. Later Lat-er she moved with her family to Panguitch and then to Kanarraville. Kanarra-ville. Throughout her life she has been an active church worker. work-er. On Nov. 27, 1888, she married W. C. Reeves, who survives her. Also surviving are six sons and daughters, Lynn and Waldo Reeves, Mrs. Jennie S. WHliams, Kanarraville; Otto Reves, Cedar City; Emron Reeves, Henderson, Nev., and Eldon Reeves, Monrovia, Mon-rovia, Calif.; 31 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. The funeral services were conducted con-ducted by Bishop Elton Stout. Speakers were Samuel F. Leigh, Cedar City, and Bishop Dan Perkins, Per-kins, Taylor, Ariz., a nephew of Mrs. Reeves. Sentiments were read by Lilliam Williams and brief remarks were made by Bishop Stout. Invocation was by Harris Guble, benediction by Lyle Price of New Harmony, and the dedicatory prayer by Lorenzo J. Williams. Prayer at the home prior to the services was by Max Williams, Los Angeles, a grandson grand-son of the deceased.. The musical program included two vocal duets, "Lead Me Gently Gent-ly Home," and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives," by Miss Mamie Eck and Mrs. Lois McConnell, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Ada Palmer, all of Cedar City, and a piano solo, "Oh, My Father," by Boyd Reeves, a request of his grandmother. |
