Show High itX, School ; News A JA By Hans Feig Teacher Party Teachers of all Cedar City schools are invited to attend a "get better acquainted" party at the East Elementary school, on Dec. 16. Sponsored by the East Ele- J mentary school, this get-together is for the purpose of making all Cedar City teachers better acquainted ac-quainted with each other. Mr. Thomas Abplanalp, principal princi-pal of the elementary school, announces an-nounces a program of activities, fun, food and general relaxation. Those in charge of the program are Miss Vida Mackelprang, Miss Connie Brown and Mrs. Rayma Anderson. Christmas Program The combined efforts of the Cedar Ce-dar City high school girls' physical phy-sical education classes and the high school chorus will present a Christmas program to the general gener-al public on Dec. 17 at the gymnasium. gym-nasium. Centered around a Christmas theme, the two groups will sing and dance several Yuletide numbers. num-bers. Some of the presentations will be dances and chorus songs alone. Included in the dancing will be modern, folk, and acrobatic numbers. num-bers. The chorus will sing Christmas Christ-mas songs. In charge of the affair are Miss JoAnne Clifton, girls PE instructor instruct-or and Mr. Wallace Adams, chorus chor-us and music teacher. Senior Hop Following the traditional custom cus-tom of the senior class at the high school, this year's students are holding the annual Senior Hop Dec. 11. This semi-formal affair will be held at the airport administration administra-tion building beginning at nine o'clock. The theme of this year's big dance will be "Christmas Dreaming," with the morning assembly as-sembly also following the same title. Dora Jayne Barlow, assembly chairman, announces the final preparation for the program to be presented to the student body Friday morning. Ten numbers, divided into three acts, will be presented. The evening floor show will be under the direction of Sharon Gi-van. Gi-van. She says that three fine numbers have been prepared for the evening's affair. The Starlighters orchestra has been engaged to play at the dance, discloses Ken Simkins, dance chairman. Profits of the one dollar admission ad-mission fee will be forwarded to the senior class project which Is an anuual parting gift to tho student body. Post Hop Scheduled for Dec. 12 Is the Post Hop, a student body dance following fol-lowing the big Senior Hop. This dance will be held at the airport administration building with the same decorations and the same orchestra, the Starlighters. |
