Show City Manager Heads Policy Group In response to a suggestion from Cedar City Manager F. E. McNutt, a policy committee has been appointed by the Iron County Coun-ty Commissioners and the Cedar City Council for the administration administra-tion of the City-County building in Cedar City. At the first meeting of the new policy committee a set of rules and regulations was made up and upon the recommendation of the committee, Mi. McNutt was appointed to head the policy administration. ad-ministration. First and probably foremost of the revisions of the building administration ad-ministration as set up by the committee states that "prisoners pre to be fed in the jail at all times." previously, according to Mr. McNutt, prisoners have been sent out for meals and in some instances allowed to sign their own meal tickets. The remaining seven items of rules and regulations set up by the committee are as follows: 2. Two meals a day for prisoners prison-ers not working. Three meals a day for prisoiners working. Three meals a day for juveniles. 3. Visiting hours from 1 to 2 p. m. 4. Lights out at 10 p. m. 5. Prisoners to be fully searched. search-ed. Coveralls and loafer sox to be furnished to replace prisoners prison-ers own clothes. 6. Prisoners to be locked in cells unless under the custody of jailer, officer or superintendent of department for which he works. 7. City and county prisoners to be worked by the city or county. 8. Prisoners to bathe at regular intervals. Besides the administration of prisoner personnel the committee completed the details by setting up a code of repairs and maintenance main-tenance for the building. Mr. Mc- j Nutt again furnished estimates for the following repairs: 1. Repaint courtroom, detention deten-tion quarters for juveniles, lower low-er floor. 2. Repair damaged plaster in rest rooms. 3. Mattresses and covers. 4. To build case of thermostats thermos-tats with lock to prevent tampering tamper-ing with heat control. The policy committee as set up by the City and County consists of Willard Lunt, chairman; Keith Smith of the city council; Commissioner Com-missioner Lyman Sevy and Sheriff She-riff Arthur Nelson for the county. jMr. Lunt was elected as chair- : man of the group. |
