Show Cedar City Marine Awarded Medal for Valor ' J. " i J ,.... ' ft v . ..." ' - Capt. C. W. Hunter, son of Mr. and Mrs. George M. Hunter of Cedar City, has been awarded the bronze star medal with Combat "V" it was revealed this week. The citation and medal was presented in ceremonies at the Clearfield Naval Supply Depot where Capt. Hunter is presently serving as security officer and commanding officer of the depot's de-pot's Marine barracks. Rear Adm. C. H. Gillilan, depot commander, made the presentation. The award, given for meritorious meritori-ous achievement in connection, with operations against the enemy ene-my while serving with a Marine tank battalion in Korea, read in part, as follows: "Serving as a company commander, com-mander, Capt. Hunter displayed exceptional ability, inlative and professional skill in the performance perform-ance of his duties. "On numerous occasions he displayed complete disregard for his personal safety and recon-noitered recon-noitered the terrain forward of the main line of resistance in order or-der to determine the best tank approaches to enemy held positions posi-tions ..." |
