Show Major J. N. Fisher Wins ROK Air Force Citations Major J. N. Fisher of the United States Air Force and husband hus-band of the former Carmen Carpenter Car-penter of Cedar City, has received two citations it was revealed this week, from the Republic of Korea Ko-rea Air Force in Korea. Although Major Fisher is presently pres-ently returning to the United States., to attend a staff com-mand com-mand school In Alabama, he will praised by the ROK forces for his devotion to duty and was honored hon-ored by receiving the Korea Pilot Wings. Major Fisher was awarded the Chungmoo with Gold Star by the ROK Air Force and his citation read in part as follows: "Major Fisher distinguished himself by exceptionally meritorious meritor-ious service as Operations and Training Advisor to the ROK Air Force during the period April 20, 1953 to October 10, 1953. During this period he gave instintingly of his time and effort and always al-ways carried out his assignment with alacrity. His enthusiastic and determined efforts in formulating formu-lating and monitoring the overall training program of the Republic of Korea Air Force was outstanding. outstand-ing. "Innumerable training courses for personnel of the ROKs were established and designed to Increase In-crease the combat potential and provide well qualified personnel in event of expansion. His genial personality, his exemplary bearing bear-ing as a U. S. officer and his sincere devotion to duty have cemented ce-mented the respect and friendship friend-ship felt by the ROKs and the U. S. Air Force." Major Fisher, according to his wife who has been living with relatives in Cedar Citv awaiting his return, will probably land in the U. S. next Tuesday, and will not have to report to Alabama until early in January, 1954. |
