Besides being local chairman she will serve as general chairman for the region until conference time Dec. 23. Bill Baker, St. George, Washington County Coun-ty chairman; Tom Dobrusky, Parowan, Iron County chairman, and Thomas Parkcs, Kanab, Kane County chairman. They will coordinate the preparations for the first traffic confab in the state. Five Southern Utah Counties Prepare For First Teen-Age Traffic Confab Donald Tucker, freshman student stu-dent at the Urigham Young University Uni-versity and past chairman of the Florida Teen-Age Traffic Convention and one of five teenage teen-age members on a traffic panel at a recent national safety convention, con-vention, addressed a host of students stu-dents from Iron, Washington and Kane counties Tuesday morning in an attempt to stimulate the teen-age traffic convention to be held in southern Utah in December. De-cember. Mr. Tucker urged the teenagers teen-agers representing Parowan, Cedar Ce-dar City, Enterprise, Hurricane, St. George, Kanab and Valley high schools to "turn the tables on the adults by showing them what the teen-agers can do to solve our own traffic problems and to show them howgood we can really drive." The meeting at the Cedar City high school Tuesday morning was an orientation meeting for the teen-ager traffic confab that will be held in Cedar City on Dec. 23. Under the supervision of A. O. Jensen, staff assistant in Industrial Indus-trial relations, Columbia Iron Mining Co., the leaders in the i high schools were given an out line of the program and what it 'ould Involve from the leaders snd the participation that would! be expected from school officials js well as civic organizations. A similar conference get-together was held at Fillmore for the north section of Region Six at which time a similar agenda was presented by Mr. Jensen ancS Mr. Tucker. Tuesday morning school chairmen, chair-men, county chairman and general gen-eral chairman from the teen age groups were appointed in the initial in-itial organization of the conference confer-ence schedule. Upon the recommendation of Mr. Jensen, the Cedar Citjrhigh school chairman, Miss Sharon Clark will act as chairman for the regional get-together. Tom Dobrusky of the Parowan high, school was elected as the schooli chairman and was also ehoseru as Iron County chairman for the affair. Kane County chairman will ,be Thomas Parkes of Kanab and the Washington County chairmanship chairman-ship went to Bill Baker of St.. George. The suggestions sug-gestions will be taken up by the teen agers and an agenda will i be arranged by them ,it is understood. under-stood. The proposed schedule will include a joint meeting of adult, civic and city leaders and teenagers, teen-agers, at which time the problems for discussion will be given to the teen ager-:. There will be a noon luncheon that will feature possibly speakers from the local area on traffic safety. In trie afternoon af-ternoon an "exclusive teen-age session" will be held at which time the teen-agers will attempt to solve the problems, or at least discuss them as presented in the' forenoon session. In the evening a banquet will be held and the 1 resolutions jf the group will be made at that tii.e. 1 The entire program will be under un-der the sponsorship of the Cedar City Coordinating Council safety committee, civic groups of the area and the Columbia Iron Mining Min-ing Company. As the activities of the conference confer-ence are arranged by the various vari-ous committees a report will be made in the Iron County Record to keep townspeople as well as teen-agers posted on the events.
