Edmonds, general manager of Utah Poultry and Farmers Cooperative, was the keynote speaker, lie discussed the contemplated reorganization of the Department of Agriculture and how it would affect the poultry poul-try industry. He reported: "The effect of 20 years of paternalism will not be overcome in one year. People Peo-ple asked for a change but are unwilling to undergo the sacrifices sacri-fices and belt-tightening which are necessary for the initial steps. The test of sincerity comes when the product we produce feels the temporary adverse effects of the elnnge. Wo are in the midst of .he change we asked for at the polls and we must back up Ezra Taft L'enson in his fight to bring back agricultural independence and self-sufficiency which until I recent years we have always cherished." |
