Show Utah's Resources I Explained by Elm to Service Clubs II. Wright Volker and Walter M. Horn, Salt Lake City residents and members of the State Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce Natural Resources Re-sources committee, appeared before be-fore members of the Lions and Kiwanls clubs of Cedar City on Monday. Volker, spokesman and secretary secre-tary of the resources committee, "Introduced a film prepared by the. Natural Resources committee commit-tee that pointed up the importance import-ance of natural resources as a lifeblood of the state. Each year, Volker stated, the committee undertakes some project pro-ject to help bring to light the ' Importance of our resources to the economy of the state. Going back to the beginning of time, the film depicted the development de-velopment of crude materials in the earth and brought that up-to-date with the developments and extractions of minerals from the earth today. In addition to mineral deposits the Importance of our historic national parks and monuments were played up In the film with considerable time given to Cedar Breaks, Zion Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Natural Nat-ural Arches Monument. It Is the purpose of the committee com-mittee to show the film to similar simi-lar groups throughout the state to maintain an interest In our vital natural resources, Volker said. Horn, in addition to being a member of the committee, is general manager of the Utah Mining Association offices located locat-ed In Salt Lake City. |
