Show Royalty to Be Chosen For Annual Lady Lions Parade The Cedar City Lady Lions club has started preparations for the annual miniature parade to be held as a feature of the Independence Inde-pendence Day celebration, according ac-cording to Mrs. D. G. Cowan, club president. The first step in the parade preparations will be the annual King and Queen contest in which royalty is selected to ride the leading float in the popular parade. pa-rade. The contests will be held at the College of Southern Utah at 6:30 p. m. on Friday, June 17, Mrs. Cowan says. In addition to a king and flueen an attendant for each also will be selected. The royalty will be chosen from four and five year old children, those who have passed their fourth birthday, but' have not yet reached their sixth' birthday. The contestants will be( judged on a basis of health, personality per-sonality and beauty. The king and queen will each receive a loving cup, and the attendants at-tendants will each receive a gift. In addition each child who participates par-ticipates will receive a small gift. Mothers who accompany their children to the contest will be entertained at a program while the children are being judged, Mrs. Cowan says. t |
