Show City Recreation Program Gets Under Way A program of baseball, soft-ball soft-ball and tennis is getting under way this week as a part of the summer recreation program here according to Bruce Decker, supervisor sup-ervisor of the program. Registration Registra-tion has already been held in the Little League baseball program with 61 boys signing up for the activity, and a few more to come in. Decker plans to make a four team league out of the group, with the limited number of 14 year-olds available acting as team managers. Practice sessions will be held on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a. m. to 12 noon, with games scehduled during the same hours on Monday, Wednesday Wednes-day and Friday. He also states that late In the afternoon he will organize a girJs Softball league or cooperate with the M I A if that organization is going forward with such a program. He also plans to organize organ-ize a boys' Softball program for those who are working in daytime, day-time, with play to start at 7 p. m. each day on the high school athletic ath-letic field. Work has started on a project to install lights on the high school athletic field and if it progresses to where the lights are available, night softball games may be started among the older boys of the town. The poles for the lighting system are placed and a portion of the electrical equipment is here ready for installation, in-stallation, although some is still lacking. A matter of financing the program is also being met at the present time, but it is hoped hop-ed that this may be met making mak-ing it possible for the field to be put to night use during the summer. sum-mer.
