Show CSU Alumni Assn. Holds m Organization Meeting Members of the council of the College of Southern Utah Alumni Association met last Thursday evening In an election meeting for the coming year. Conducting Conduct-ing the business and election I was Willard Jones, immediate past president of the alumni group. At the meeting several recommendations recom-mendations were made for the coming year, including principally principal-ly that the Alumni Association bylaws and constitution be revised re-vised and followed more closely. An executive committee within with-in the council was chosen, as suggested by the bylaws and Included In-cluded the following members. President will be Klien Rollo, with four members of the executive execu-tive board as follows: Immediate past president, Jones; Dixie Lea-vltt, Lea-vltt, an outgoing council member; mem-ber; Marlon Hahne, newly elected elect-ed council member, and Clifton Chatterley, a member of the council for the past two years. At the annual banquet of the Alumni Association held during commencement week at the college, col-lege, five new members were elected for a three-vear term to the council. In addition to Mrs. Hahne thev Included Clemont Adams, Clair Morris, Ralph Perkins Per-kins and Mrs. Blanche Houchen. Other suggestions made by the council members at the election and business meeting were a closer unltv between the association asso-ciation and the college proper, and also the alumni to assist the college In the solicitation of graduating students in the area. Activities for the summer and fall will be announced bv the council in the near future, according ac-cording to Rollo. The position of secretary, an appointive post with the association, has not ye hed filled. Announcement of this announcement will also he made nt a later date, the president presi-dent said. |
