Show I BAND AND ORCHESTRA WORK Over 150 Students Enroll in Summer Term Eugene Helland, director of Instrumental In-strumental music at the Cedar Junior and Senior High Schools announced early this month that a summer music program will be carried on by the school district dis-trict this year. This program, he said, will be held at the high school building on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Wed-nesday mornings and will include in-clude orchestra and band classes. Over 150 students In the two programs have already signed up for the summer classes, Helland said. About 100 in the wind instrument in-strument and another 50 In the orchestra, or string Instrument program, will attend. It has been found by past ex perience that students starting in the summer music program proceed pro-ceed more rapidly, Helland said. All students wishing to participate partici-pate in this program must have their own Instruments. A schedule of the band sessions ses-sions is as follows: Junior high band, 8 to 9 a. m.; intermediate band, 9 to 10 a. m.; beginning woodwinds, 10 to 11 a. m.; beginning brass and percussion, per-cussion, 11 a. m. to 12 noon; Intermediate In-termediate woodwinds, 12 to 1 p, m. and intermediate brass and percussion, 1 to 2 m. Orchestra schedule will begin at 8 a. m. with the junior high school. Intermediate students , will meet at 9 a. m. and beginning begin-ning strings will meet at 11 a. m. |
