Show State Fair to Feature Home Craftsman Exhibits A multitude of new products and gadgets for the do-it-yourself builder, painter, repairman, or home craftsman will be in the spotlight during the 1954 Utah State Fair, Sept. 18 to 26. For the first time a Do-it-yourself show will be a part of the State Fair and will be open to visitors to the huge state exposition expo-sition with no additional admission admis-sion charge. J. A. Theobald, secretary-manager of the fair, announced that the new show would be introduced intro-duced this year to keep pace with the do-it-yourself boom that is sweeping the nation. The show is expected to offer a wealth of practical ideas for men and women who have a penchant for outdoor living and home development . . . and want to know "how to do it better, quicker, more easily and more efficiently." ef-ficiently." The show will give exhibitors in the intermountain area an opportunity to demonstrate their newest items for "do-it-yourself" projects of all kinds making garden furniture, building a barbecue, bar-becue, decorating a room or for bigger Jobs such as building a house or adding a room. "Potential exhibitors including makers of various tools to be used in the home for such things as upholstery, paper hanging, laying tile, making drapes, and other home crafts are giving enthusiastic en-thusiastic backing to the show."
